Erdene is committed to supporting communities in which we work with a focus on improving local education, health and livelihoods.
Erdene’s community development program provides resources that meet the needs of the communities in which the company works. Erdene is committed to supporting the improvement of local education, public health and basic livelihoods. Much of Erdene’s community development work is devoted to improving social services in rural Mongolian communities.
In more advanced project sites, Erdene forms a committee, comprising of local government officials, community members, education and health representatives and a Company representative. This committee meets regularly to determine the community’s most urgent needs, helping to implement and monitor community initiatives that Erdene supports.
To ensure the implementation of its policies, Erdene employs an experienced Community Development Officer (CDO) who regularly visits the communities it supports, ensuring that all donated materials are used for their intended purposes and that training programs are initiated. Erdene’s CDO works to assist local residents in understanding the Company’s activities and to advise on the Company’s development efforts.
